Ratta dynasty
Ratta dynasty was the branch of Rashtrakutas.[1] Savadatti (Saundatti), historically known as Sugandavarti was the capital of Ratta dynasty during 875-1250, later capital shifted to Belagavi (Belgaum) historically known as Venugrama.[2] Belgaum was the capital of the Rattas during 1210 - 1250 AD.
Forts of Rattas
In 1204, Belgaum Fort was built by Jaya Raja also known as Bichi Raja.[3] Later Yadavas of Devagiri defeated Rattas and captured the Belgaum Fort.
Jainism
Rattas the feudatories of the Rashtrakutas patrons of Jainism.[4] In 11th century AD, Jain saint Munichandra (Acarya, the founder of Ratta-rajya) a teacher and minister to Laksmideva (son of Kartivirya).

- Paravanatha purana was written by Jain writer Parsva Pandita.
- Pushpadanta purana the story of 9th Jain tirthankar Pushpadanta was written by Jain writer Gunavarma II.
